Membership Structure and Criteria
The New Zealand Winegrowers (NZW) Board agreed within the NZW sustainability policy SWNZ membership criteria will be as follows;
- Tier 1 and Tier 2 are considered as members of NZ Winegrowers and will have access to the basic SWNZ information.
- Tier 3 are deemed Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand members and pay a membership fee and work towards accreditation.
Tier 3 – Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) Member
At this level vineyards and wineries are independently audited to verify their compliance with SWNZ protocols. Once accredited members may use the logo; full winery accredited members may make use of label claims, membership signs, etc.
Membership fees will be paid annually at the beginning of the year of accreditation. eg; membership fees due July 1 2010. Scorecard and related documentation are received by June 30 2011 for audit and accreditation for 2010/2011 season.
Membership fees include all membership information (manuals, guidebooks, handbooks, workshops, website, online tools etc) and the audit costs.
Members have full access to information through the members area of the website (including online tools, individual reports, templates, data transfer, etc).
Scorecard, spray diary and other records to be provided electronically, otherwise an additional charge for processing may apply.
Technical workshops included for 2 people per property.
